When I was 18 and searching for direction in life, I saw a flyer advertising a yoga class. I had no idea what yoga was, I only knew I must go. During that initial class I became aware of my own breathing for the first time. I’d listened to my horses breathe my whole life but never considered my own. I left the class in awe of my body, it’s resilience and the discovery of breath.

Since then, yoga has been a kite string between my body and my mind, to ground me and reel me home when I’m lost.

Christin is highly perceptive of the collective mood, needs and abilities of her students. You leave each class having gotten what you needed, even if you didn’t know it going in. And even more importantly, you never feel left behind or ignored during her class. She brings absolutely no ego to her teaching which is probably what allows her to be so attuned to her students. Her understanding of yoga poses and techniques, their effects on the body and the mind, and how to modify them for each student is of the highest level. As is her sense of flow: how to start a class and ramp it up progressively, give it a direction, take it there, then bring it all back down for a soft landing.
